During my time at the paper, I had an opportunity to connect with some wonderful people like the guys from The Pace Setters. They were wonderful people. They would bring news items to me when I was working at the paper. They love basketball. I often see Ron Ulias at book sales. They did this on their own, it was a volunteer effort on their part.
The Pace Setter AC is in its 55th year of providing numerous basketball contributions and programs throughout NEPA. Founded in 1969-70 , co-directors Dom Falduto and Ron Ulias have amassed over 500 varsity independent victories as coaches, run hundreds of leagues, clinics, camps and instructional training programs for thousands of area boy and girl basketball players throughout its rich history. Ulias emerged as one of the top adult league performers of all time, and both he and Falduto are NEPA chapter Hall of Fame inductees. The Pace Setters continue to honor dedicated players with annual ‘ For Love of the Game ‘ recognition awards.
